Beatriz Aguirre

Biography

Beatriz’s work involves navigating complex and changing regulatory landscapes and advocating for policies that uphold the integrity of the electoral process. She counsels candidates, elected officials, nonprofits, and political organizations across the country on corporate compliance, campaign finance, and nonprofit law.


Before joining Herrera Arellano LLP, Beatriz was a trial attorney within the U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Civil Rights Division, focusing on investigations, litigation, and institutional reform of law enforcement agencies across the country. During her time at the DOJ, she focused on violations of the Fourth Amendment, responses to individuals in behavior health crisis, and investigations of sexual assault. Notably, she led the Division's use-of-force investigation into the Minneapolis Police Department in 2021 and various reform efforts at the Baltimore Police Department.


Prior to the DOJ, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jennifer A. Dorsey at the United States District Court for the District of Nevada and the Honorable James W. Hardesty at the Nevada Supreme Court. She earned her law degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and obtained bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work from the University of Nevada, Reno. In 2023, Beatriz was selected as a “Rising Star” by the Hispanic Bar Association of D.C.
